Bryan Hall Learning Community

Florida State’s oldest residential learning community, the Bryan Hall Learning Community houses 128 first-year students in an environment that encourages diversity and interdisciplinary peer-to-peer learning.
To help facilitate a smooth adjustment to university life, our learning community provides special opportunities to meet people of diverse interests, receive academic support, and become involved in campus activities. Rather than being major- or discipline-specific, Bryan Hall focuses on Curiosity and the Desire to Learn and serves as a microcosm of this major research university.

The Bryan Hall experience nurtures first-year students, increasing both retention and graduation rates, by easing their integration and exposing them to the diversity that FSU has to offer. The Bryan Hall Learning Community’s primary goal is the creation of an environment that will assist new students to realize the full potential of enrollment in a research university. Toward that end, we provide opportunities for regular faculty-student interaction and involve student residents in research- and inquiry-based learning.
